I bought the film “Beginners” last week as I had so enjoyed it the first time. Watching it again reminded me how beautiful the soundtrack is - not only one but three composer’s (David Palmer, Roger Neill, Brian Reitzell) worked on the beautifully romantic score, mostly made up of simple piano melodies.
But what stood out to me most was the use of 1920s & 30s tracks - including my favourite jazz man, Jelly Roll Morton.
What actually prompted me to post about this though was when I heard an intriguing & recognisable string piece that plays throughout a montage of Hal’s new life as an “out” gay man… but alas I can not find it anywhere! help? shazam let me down.
